How to Enrol

In Zone Enrolment

To enrol a child at Mt Roskill Primary School you are required to provide the following:

  • A birth certificate, if born in New Zealand 

or –

a passport stamped with a residency visa or valid student permit. 

  • If not making an out-of-zone application, please provide 2 forms of proof of living at an in-zone address (e.g. electricity bill, telephone bill, statutory declaration), we do not accept bank statements or personal letters. 

  • An immunisation certificate.

  • If the child is born in New Zealand but at least one parent is a migrant, then that parent is required to provide a copy of their birth certificate OR their passport.

  • Latest school report or portfolio from early childhood centre.

Enrolments are carried out at the school office any day during term time between the hours of 8:00 am and 3.30 pm.

At Mount Roskill Primary School, we operate an enrolment scheme to ensure we can effectively manage our roll and provide the best possible learning environment for all our students. This means that students living within our designated zone are guaranteed a place at our school (see In Zone information). 
 
However, we understand that many families living outside our zone are keen to join our school community. We are sometimes able to offer places to out-of-zone students, but this is dependent on the availability of space after all in-zone enrolments have been confirmed.
 
If you are considering applying for an out-of-zone place for your child, please read complete the form below and hand this into our school office at your earliest convenience. If you are applying for the following year please make sure you have your application in by the deadline on the form below. 
 
All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application. If your child is offered a place we ask that you accept or decline as soon as possible. 
 
Please Note:
Out-of-zone enrolment is not guaranteed. We strive to accommodate as many families as possible, but our capacity is limited.
 
Acceptance of one child out-of-zone does not automatically guarantee a place for future siblings.
